The Brooklyn Youth Sports Club taps into children’s passion for basketball to inspire excellence on and off the court.

The Summer Academy at the New Lots Location provides a blend of gardening, basketball, yoga, and various art programs for the children to explore and learn.

Back in 2021, the New Lots Location needed a comprehensive renovation and revitalization to suit the needs of the Summer Academy. 
Through community volunteers and partners, the space was transformed to the current lush state where the kids can learn about growing food and culvitating a garden. 

I joined the team in 2021 as a volunteer for the design/build of the first renovation phase to turn the old playground lot into the garden. And re-joined in 2022 as a camp counselor to expand the garden plots while teaching Summer Academy students (ages 8-14) about basic design and construction techniques.
